Saying Goodbye at DSP

Over the past almost two years I have been designing for Digitalscrapbookplace.com (aka - DSP). Prior to designing there, I have been a member since 2005. The friends I have made while scrapbooking and designing, have been, for me, the icing on the cake. I mean, all of you who scrapbook know we start out in a community like this to chronicle the lives of our loved ones. It is only natural, since we share that common bond, that many of us would become attached to one another. My goodness, I have met and made friends from ALL over the globe due to this hobby/career and am still amazed that this can be!

Soooooo, it is with a heavy heart that I must say at this time, I am resigning from DSP.

For right now, I am going to be catching up on my own scrapbooking and posting layouts both in galleries and here on my blog. I also plan to play - play - play as much as I possibly can with my little girl (who is just growing WAY too fast for me). LOL, I have thousands (as you can well imagine) of photos to go through. Oh dear, I have been horrible at keeping notes for journaling, so hope and pray for me that my short term memory loss has not kicked in entirely LOL!

I am currently open to offers for designing elsewhere when my six month non-compete agreement is up, so please check back here to my blog from time to time for the occasional goodie/freebie!

Thanks to ALL of you who have participated in my crops and challenges and purchased my designs from DSP in the past. I can not tell you how much it has meant to me to see your own lives chronicled using my works!

Last Friday we went to our local zoo for the Festival of Lights. Needless to say, everything was GORGEOUS with beautiful lights here - there ...and everywhere! There were carolers dressed from days of old...and all the goodies of the holiday season, such as...apple cider, hot cocoa, gingerbread men...and funnel cakes. Yes, the animals were all so fun to see as usual too...but...probably the best fun...was getting to sit on Santa's lap! Syd was so adorable (if I do say so myself :) I created this double page spread of her (yes, I took lots more photos than this and also got the professional one :) using my newest kit now in the DSP Store, called - Home for Christmas. Its a sure thing to go with any and all holiday/winter photos, no matter what color combo your pictures are!

Wow....Monday was so much fun (even with a splitting migraine on both sides of my head and horrible nausea, lol) because I got to meet some of the fab Team Digital!

We met up in Cincinnati and hung out at Barnes and Nobles, ate lunch at Brios Restaurant, rode a Paddleboat up the Ohio River, had ice cream (well, I backed out of the ice cream due to how I was feeling) and then I just knew I could go no further. I went home to lie down hoping to get rid of the migraine but it would not leave so I missed the Cincinnati Reds Ball game...could you all imagine the awesome photos I could have had of Lauren, Kim and Margie there? (Tina and Suzanne had to leave before the ballgame also)
I am so glad for them that the Reds won! It really must have made the game that much more fun, especially for Lauren who had never been to a baseball game here in America.

...and well, even with the migraine I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO fortunate for the great time I did get to have and here a just a few photos from that day.

This may just have inspired me to set my anxieties aside and make the trip to a CHA someday too :)

Okay guys...I have been DIEING to create something in green. (LOL, I do believe its one of the only colors missing from my end of the store at DSP...(well....there's also yellow but we can discuss that later, hahaha). This one is super versatile - Heritage, anything requiring a bit of whimsy - Christmas, St. Patty's day - I could go on and on! I got to have some fun with glitter in this one...and now you guys can have fun with the glitter in your layouts too. This kit is a bit formal mixed in with playful. (My favorite style to do!) Anywho...hope you all love this as much as I loved creating it.

My toddler really loves pretty much ALL fruit, LOL! - but...she really loves her Bear-Bearies (strawberries of course) lately. Anyone who knows me personally knows I used to collect Strawberry everything. Ohhhhhh the days of hitting the antique shows and yard sales and well - pretty much everywhere and anywhere I could go to find them! Naturally when I decided to digitally create scrapbooking things a kit with strawberries was already in my head...Syd just sealed the deal for the name, hahaha! Anyhow.....here is one of my latest kits to debut in July. It's filled with very, (and boy do I mean VERY) rich lush textures and elements all in reds, golds and touches of green. It will be perfect for those Heritage layouts, Floral, Feminine, - and hey! - even Christmas type layouts will work with this kit. Hope you all love it as much as I did creating it! It really means so much to me, especially since the little gingerbread man was modeled after the very same gingerbread cookies I bake every year at Christmas time!

This add on to the Can't Catch me kit is also special to me because the cookies created digitally here are also created from scratch and baked in my oven year after year at Christmas time! Those Christmas trees, especially get rave reviews, LOL! Every year I bake them I bake tons (about 12 different varieties of cookies and candies) and make gift baskets. Then, on either Christmas Eve or Christmas morning my husband and I would walk to each neighbor's house delivering goodies. We always have a tray for each of our families during our get together with them. The past couple years I have not gotten to do this (what with Sydney being so small and all) but really hope to get back to it this year! I thought I would take a smidgen of a break from the pink/purple combos, LOL! This one is called Song Bird. Its rich with loads of texture, lace, ribbons, a bow and jeweled embellishment in buttery yellows, soft pretty blues, cremes and pinks. I really enjoyed working on this kit and hope it shows! Look for it in the DSP store somewhere between this Thursday and Friday (the 10th & 11th of May).

It was a wild and crazy go nuts fun time Saturday at DSP. I soooooooooooo love to be organized for my chats and yikes! Had computer problems right at the start of the chat but luckily managed to get everything under control. If there is anyone who has not received their prize plopper please let me know in a pm. I ended up giving them out at the end of the chat so that everyone had a chance to get one, so hopefully I didn't miss anyone.

Ohhhhhhhh and .... for you Fairie lovers out there...stay tuned for a brand new Fairie set of kits soon to be in the store called FAIRIE STORIES. Its been yet another one of my favs to work on and I can not wait to finish it and put that cute little Sydney Lou Who of mine in a layout with that kit!

Wow! Can you believe it? I created my very own digitally crocheted GRANNY SQUARES!!! LOL, it was the highlight of my day, let me tell ya! Anyhow, this is the add on kit to the Song Bird page kit. Here's another new kit (following are the matching Add on and Back Pack) - Mother May I? Its loaded with lots of pretty florals in pinks and lavendars along with fun elements such as a stamp with a child swinging (The whole naming of the kit came from this one little stamp!) pretty plaid ribbon and a matching bow, blanket stitched felt rick rack, a blanket stitched butterfly, a glass floral button, a gel flower and - a lush 12x12 floral stamp! Remember, if you attend my chat on May 9th, you will get the matching back pack for free...posting a layout before the following Wed. May 16th will get you the matching Add on pack! (Hopefully this kit will be in the store by May 4th.)
On a note aside from scrapbooking....whoooo hooooo! We finally made it to the zoo this past weekend! Sydney wore the CUTEST little plaid off the shoulder dress from Gymboree and we were not surprised that when we pulled into the parking lot...SHE REMEMBERED where she was! Adorable, let me tell ya, she started making animal noises, (the elephant and lion roars) immediately and was just so excited to be there! It was a gorgeous day and of course I took TONS of photos! Can't wait to post some layouts with 'em!

Well, here's my featured kit for the first week in May. The main kit - Spot of Tea, is scheduled to be in the DSP store on the 4th and the Add on Pack and Back Pack are to be the freebies for that week. I'm so excited about it and can not wait to see the layouts that get posted with this one! Let me know what you guys think of it. I used it for a layout with my little sister Rose and baby girl Sydney together at McDonalds of all places. Best friends, those two I tell ya what!Life's been a little hectic lately. Trying to get a few DSP deadlines finished before the end of the month. I've also been dealing with a couple of migraines that messed up a trip to the zoo this past weekend with Steve and Sydney. Boo hoo.... Steve said that he heard it was our last chance to see the Girrafes (did I spell that right?), cause they are moving 'em to make way for an all new home to put 'em in. So they will be leaving for a bit. Oh well, hopefully it will be gorgeous again next weekend. We will see. I soooooooooo love taking photos of Syd at the zoo!

Yeah!!! Finally Designing for DSP!!!

Well, these are my first kits in the store! Yippeeee! As of April 1st I am designing for DSP ( http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/ ). WOW, I can not tell you how exciting this is! DSP is a wonderful place for people to learn everything there is to know about Digital Scrapbooking. Once there, one can find freebies, tutorials, personal galleries to store layouts and there's even a store for those of us that like to shop - a true scrapbooker's dream! I am also a paper scrapper of almost 7 years but when we came home with our beautiful baby girl in October of 2005 - there was no way anymore to keep up with the mess of all the paper, glue and MESS! LOL! Lucky for me, I turned to the computer and found a whole world of Digital Scrapbooking, along with a place to store my layouts for family members and friends to see.What else can I say about DSP? Well, ever since I discovered the site, I was extremely impressed with all of the Designer's works of art. Imagine my shock when I found out that all the wonderful things that go on a scrapbook page - everything from ribbons to background papers to even metal embellishments - all these things - are created DIGITALLY!!!!! (at first when I arrived at the site I had thought that the designers scanned these things in and then sold them as kits but boy was I wrong. Nope, ALL of these things are created digitally and look so realistic that you really do feel as if you could just reach right down to a scrapbook page and pick those elements up! AMAZING to me!) Anyhow, I was addicted immediately! I mean, come on, anyone who knows me knows the flash of my camera, lol! I have always been the annoying one at family get togethers and parties, even teasingly called the "Paparazzi", LOL, but - its all worth it to see the looks on all their faces when I create a layout and save our memories! Now I have to also admit that since we came home with our little one, SHE has been the main focus of my camera but I still try and preserve all those other memories too.Okay, so back to designing! Well, yep, I am now designing for DSP (hmmmmm, did I already tell you that? lol!) Ever since I discovered DSP and what is possible I wanted to and only hoped I could someday design for them because it really is true - they are the "Best of the Best". No other digi-scrapping site out there compares. I host a weekly chat/challenge there called ALL for One with Linda on Wednesdays, at 9:00pm ET. There, I give out a freebie and we discuss the featured kit for the week (designated by me) and just have loads of fun chatting about scrapbooking! This past Wednesday was my second week and I am so happy about all the wonderful DSP members who made it there to chat with us!Stay posted here to see future upcoming kits for following months and layouts I hope to also post using my own creations!
